Health workers on go-slow

HEALTH workers in the northern districts say they have embarked on a “go-slow” starting Tuesday to demand a hike in their risk allowances. The workers want the Ministry of Health to increase their hardship or risk allowances from the current M275 to M5 000 per month. A spokesman for the workers, Tanki Ranthimo, said the industrial action could escalate into a full-blown strike if the government does not address their grievances.
