Doctors in the districts who have been on “go-slow” since last week say they will press on with their industrial action until the government bows to their demands. Their defiance comes a few days after Health Services director-general, Dr ’Nyane Letsie, declared their action illegal. What appears to have angered the doctors most was the decision by the government to suspend three medical superintendents in Qacha’s Nek, Butha-Buthe, and Quthing after they refused to write rosters of doctors on duty.
