A 30-year-old Leribe man has been slapped with a two-year jail term or M5 000 fine for trying to rape his 15-year-old niece last Friday. Magistrate Itumeleng Motšoeneng of the Tšifa-li-Mali Magistrate’s Court did not accept the man’s mitigation. She said the convict “committed a serious offence even though he did not succeed with his actions”.
