It connects network and signal stability in 10 villages of Ha-Matoli, Thaba-Phatšoa, Ha-Tobolela, Ha-Tsae, Ha-Tente, Ha-Mosuoane, Ha-Mokhachane, Lipetu, Likileng, and Ha-Tšepe.
Powered by solar energy, the tower is built to endure extreme weather conditions because batteries can keep power for almost four days, guaranteeing dependable service for users.
Communications Minister, Nthati Moorosi, pleaded with the community to protect the cell tower from being damaged.
One of Ha-Tšepe residents, ’Masekho Moiketsi, said the tower will contribute to reducing livestock theft in the society because their phones will always be connected to the network.
Moiketsi said they will be able to alert law enforcement agencies in time when crime is happening.
She said in winter, their children are at risk of being kidnapped or raped because they leave home to school early in the morning when it is still dark and return late.
That will be history as the tower will help us always check on them without fear of network connections failure, she said.
