A suspected serial killer, Motebang Mookholi, is wanted together with five other men in connection with the murder of a family in Fobane, Leribe, three months ago. Mookholi, 36, is wanted in connection with the murders of 10 people and one of arson and malicious damage to property dating back to 2019.

The police said out of the six suspects, they were particularly keen to interview Mookholi.
“This man is wanted with a series of killings where he is suspected to be involved,” the statement reads.
The police say in the winter of 2019, Mookholi fatally shot a man and his wife in Peka Ha-Rantuba and set their house ablaze while they were still in it.
He also allegedly torched a car.
He is also wanted for the murder of another man from the same village on the same day.
Mookholi, the police say, is wanted for the murder of another man from Peka, in Leribe, whom he shot in 2021 and later in the same year he allegedly shot a cop dead.
Five other people the police say he participated in their murders are a family in Fobane, where a family was eliminated in April this year.
Fobane is a village where five people were murdered at a home on April 18 in a brutal attack police suspect to be linked to famo gang wars that have rocked the area in recent months.
There is also strong speculation that the murders were linked to an earlier incident in Liphakoeng where a Terene ea Mokata-Lirope member was shot dead while two others were injured.
It is understood that the two survivors named their attackers to their colleagues who then launched a revenge attack on the family in Fobane.
“The police appeal to everyone who knows where this man stays to give us information,” the statement reads.
The police have however warned the public not to arrest the man “because he is dangerous”.
The other five wanted suspects in connection with the Fobane murders are Mohau “Carvela” Mohlolo from Mapoteng, Lehlohonolo “Litsebe” Tumo from Liphakoeng, Tšepiso “Mosotho” Malora from Liphakoeng, Thamahane “Mocaba” Mpiti from Liphakoeng, and Litlhako “Lieta” Monnanyane from Liphakoeng.
