Trio booted out of police service

THREE police officers have been dismissed from the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) after being involved in various crimes. Police Constable Ntsane Litšoane, 35, from Mateanong in Mokhotlong was fired on July 16 this year. He was deployed at the Mokhotlong police.

Litšoane joined the police on December 2, 2015.


The report said Litšoane was found guilty on May 28 this year at the Mokhotlong Magistrate’s Court where he was accused of sexually abusing a 15-year- old girl in 2017.


Meanwhile, PC Semakala Mothabeng, 37, from Lower Moyeni in Quthing was also dismissed on August 8. He joined the police service on August 2, 2010.


He was deployed at Maseru Rural.


Mothabeng was found guilty of disappearing from work and his employer did not know his whereabouts.


The report further said that PC Lereko None, 38, from Ha-Ramokhele in Mafeteng, was dismissed from his job on August 7. He joined the Lesotho Mounted Police Service on October 10, 2011.


None was found guilty of selling four sheep and a lamb which did not belong to him.


The police said he did not have a right to do so.


In a statement this week, the police management informed the general public that it should be aware that the trio is no longer part of the LMPS.
